A Lao folktale
This famous Lao story tells of two brothers in a poor family.
When they were boys, their mother gave a string to the younger brother. He easily broke it. She put many strings together and gave them to the older brother. He could not break them. "You must stay together and help each other," she told them.
The younger brother remembered his lesson, but the older brother forgot. They chose different paths in life, and soon learned the value of their mother's lesson.
