Sanitation and Toilets

Better sanitation is a big step toward better health. Traditionally, most people in rural Laos had no bathrooms or toilets; they went into the woods.

This booklet, translated and slightly adapted from the excellent manual published by Hesperian Foundation, explains why that leads to increased disease. Then it clearly describes several methods for making toilets, including composting of the waste to create fertilizer.
