I Can Speak English!

Many young people in Laos are eager to learn English; if you've helped at one of our drop-in English practice sessions, you've seen that enthusiasm. But when they practice on their own, they must learn pronunciation from international phonetic symbols, which are confusing and which very few students have mastered.

This book gives them another aid: A phonetic system for reading and pronouncing English, which is based on Lao letters and sounds, with a few new symbols added for sounds (such as th and sh) that don't exist in Lao. They can continue to practice with other books we publish, that use the same system.
