Aijethai and other traditional stories from Laos

Aijethai is a Lao folk hero, who can eat 7 baskets of sticky rice and drink 7 bottles of water at a single sitting. His parents, who were impoverished even before he was born, fear that the entire family will starve if they have to keep feeding him, so they leave him in the forest. Here is his story, and 4 other traditional Lao folktales.

Each story concludes with a lesson, such as "Kindness triumphs over bad temper."
