The Dead Tiger Who Killed a Princess

Traditional Lao folktales are by far the most popular books we publish. For children, they provide an enjoyable entry into the world of reading. For adults, who perhaps have only rudimentary reading skills, these stories provide a way to improve their own skills, to share time with their children, and perhaps to re-discover the stories they heard in childhood.

These seven fairy tales go back more generations than anyone knows. Once passed along orally, they risk being forgotten, as television spreads. This collection, which will be followed by others, will keep them alive for future generations.

retold by Vannaled Sayyavong, Siphone Voutthisakdee and Lathsavong Syluanglath, illustrated by Somboun Keomanyvong, Seng Xaysawan and Chamlern Phothihoumphan
